Mine did the same thing on my '75. I snagged one out of a local club guy's garage. I sold it with the carb when I went Explorer EFI or I'd send it to you.

Is it the aluminum plate?
My '77 burned a hole in it when the car was less than 1 year old. Ford replaced it with an iron one under warranty. There should be iron ones out there.

they show up on ebay if you keep an eye out for them.

A pricier alternative (unless you know somebody that can do it for you) is to weld it up and machine back to shape.
