Hello all,
Tried to post this yesterday but dont think it worked. Helping my Mom and Step-dad sell their Bronco. They've had people offering them 10g for it but I think it's worth more than that.

It's a 73 Explorer. Southwest vehicle.rusty floorplans from water under the mats. Step dad states windows were cracked open or leaky roof seal and got rained inside and underneath the floor mats.
Cracked windshield, dash, and front seats are worn, drivers side worse off than passenger. Wiper arms need replaced,1 missing.

That's about it for the bad! Around 47,000 on the odometer that works, 302 automatic on the column. Aux fuel tank, has 3:50 gears in it now for mileage, but the original 4:10's come with it as well. Shifts strong. Dual exhaust. The wheels in the photos aren't matched front to rear but he has the matching wheels for it along with the spare tire. ( fronts were switched off his van that had better tread, and yes, they're smaller diameter but he doesn't use the 4wd for that reason)

Door jambs are all excellent. Tailgate as well very clean. Rockers are rust free. Doors open and shut great, body lines are straight. Uncut rear fenders. Has anti rattle kit included, some new carpet in the box, and some weather strip as well.

I drive truck and swing through there basically unannounced so there wasn't time to clean and prep the vehicle for photos. Literally open doors and shoot some pics. Sorry about that. My mom is 81 and step dad 80...not up on the whole smartphone thing.
Appreciate the input in advance. Thanks

Welcome! If they sell that for $10k, it will be up for sale again within a week for $20k+. Looks like a pretty solid uncut, auto tans, patina bronco, those are in demand, don't sell for $10k no matter what. Others that buy and sell more will chime in.

I sold a 72 explorer last year that needed way more work than this one, and I got 10K. This truck is worth a lot more than that. I would place this closer to 15-18k due to its condition. Wish I was in the market, that is a great color for an explorer.

I'd pay $10k in a heartbeat, $20k would be my top end. Someone out there will pay $25k, get buried in it and their wife will divorce them.

Fine line between patina and needs paint though. Someone is going to spend some time and money sorting it out, even with the patina and no paint.

Floors aren't terribly bad.

List it on here, someone will shoot straight with you and pay a fair price.

You made the pictures the best way; Just as it is. I look at a lot of Broncos for sale, and it is so easy to tell the businesses and the flippers from the real deals! Their Bronco is easy 20k probably more. Like earlier advise, list it here at a number north of 20 or 25k and you will be swamped with lookers and potential purchasers. This is my .02 and I'm not even gona charge for it!

If it would be possible to see it on Sunday morning, I'd swing by and take a look at it and give them a fair assessment of the value of it. I'd hate for them to be taken advantage of. My parents are the same age now too (a year or two older) and they'll never do smartphones either!

I could also take some better pictures if that helps.

I'd echo the other commenters that I wouldn't list it for less than 20K either.

Sounds like a plan, and will turn out for the best for your parents too.

I made the hot drive this morning to check out this Bronco for the owner. Supposed to be 116 here today - I got home and it was only 107. Whew!

The truck is a true 'Arizona survivor'. It starts easily on the first crank of the key and idles smoothly. It has dual exhausts with glass pacs so the engine has a nice burble to it. I did a several mile drive in it and the it runs smooth and has plenty of pep, in my opinion. The transmission shifts cleanly and smoothly and downshifts properly. I didn't check the heater operation but the owner did say it has a new heater core in it. The turn signals cancel! When was the last time you test drove an old truck and those worked?

Everything appears to be in order in the engine compartment. The air intake snorkel hose is cracked but it's all there.

The only rust on the truck I could find is the hole in the driver's side floorboard. When I say rust, I mean heavy rust and rust-through such that there's a hole in the metal. The passenger's side floorboard is rusty as well but I did not see any holes in it. There is surface rust on the hood, fenders, and top of rear quarters as shown in the photos.

The doors open and shut nicely. No sag in the door hinges. The body lines are good. The hood, tailgate, and lift gate open and close as designed. The rockers and inner fender wells are solid.

The undercarriage is what you'd expect from a 47 year old truck. There is undercoating on some of it. The C-bushings were changed to poly at some point. Other than those bushings and the dual exhaust, everything appears to be stock on the underside. Both tanks work although the aux tank is missing one hose.

All of the gauges appear to work properly in the cluster.

The truck is a DSO 76 truck from Denver. The current owner has owned it about 20 years and it was a central AZ truck before that.

I think you could get in this truck and drive it as-is. It has a few dents on the top of the driver's side fender, a few dings in the fenders and the bottom of one door. Heavy surface rust on some surfaces as noted. The front seats need to be re-upholstered (the back seat appears to be in good condition). Dash pad is cracked and pieces of the floor mat are missing. The door panels are off but come with the truck as does a dark blue carpet kit, trim hold-down pieces, door cups and armrests. Additionally, the headliner needs to be replaced. The spare tire carrier has a piece of tubing/pipe welded to it to hold the spare. The stock wheels come with the truck.

That's about all I can think of at the moment. I'll post more pics.

The truck originally came with 4.11 gears but they were changed out to 3.50s by the current owner.

The truck is a late '73 - 6/73 build.

What appears to be rust in the inner fender wells is actually peeling undercoating.

Sorry for the sideways/upside-down photos.

More pics. You can see the dings on the driver's side front fender.

A negative I forgot to mention - all those quick-connects in the wiring.
