Just out of curiosity, is yours a Denver edition? DSO would be 763000 if so. That would be found on the tag inside the glovebox door.

Nice work on the build, by the way!

Holy Denver!

JG it crossed my mind years ago to check but never did. When I refinished my hood there was blue paint below it. I honestly haven't thought about it since. I just walked outside and took a look. It looks to be. Now I sit with the thought and situation that I have completely trashed a rare bronco. I have had it for 13 or so years. Wished I would have looked then.

I've been enjoying this build, keep it going. It's a little late now anyways right? Plus you already brought it back from the dead after the wreck it looks like so time to build it up.

Thanks man. It is a bit late. Unless a bronco brother wants to pony up some cash to buy it so they can bring it back to it's original glory. With all the mods that I have done, that would be close to impossible. I just wish I had known this info years ago. I would have restored it to original.

Bottom line, it's your Bronco to enjoy and build. The mods and accessories are yours. Worse things have been done to rare Broncos. Promise.

Keep up the good work. Hope I didn't cause too much grief, I was just curious.

Thanks JG!
I stripped some parts off the 5.0 for cleaning, modifications, and to reseal it yesterday along with getting every part out of the Mountaineer that I will need. I went to the extreme and pulled the whole engine bay harness along with the efi, O2, and trans harness. I got most of the parts cleaned up and ready for paint. I need to modify the driver's valve cover a little but no big deal there. I was a bit surprised to see that a motor with 180k still had all the crosshatching in every cylinder!!! That was great to see. I feel a lot more confident about the reliability of this mill. I need to pull the crank pulley, waterpump, and timing cover to put new seals and a new pump on. I believe I have all the parts that I need other then a fuel pump for the swap. I still need to figure out how I'm getting a sag PS pump and a York mounted on this thing but I might have it figured out.

The Mountaineer had a bit of an exhaust leak. I think I found out why. Lol the passenger side manifod came off in two pieces. As I was taking the lower intake off the front two studs broke off at the head. I built the stud up with weld, welded a nut on and was able to extract them. It was an hour process but it worked. I was pretty unsure for a while. I really didn't want to pull the heads since the cylinder walls looked so good. It just might have turned into a 347 if I had. Lol once I get this painted and resealed I'm going to pull the bronc motor and then start on the wiring harness.
