Would the axles on a '77 F150 be the same width as a '76 F100?

I have a '77 Dana 44 out of an F150 Ranger to use in a full width conversion, and my local junk yard has a '76 F100 right now. If I grab the rear end out of the F100, will it be the same width as the '77 F150 front end?

Or would it be a bad idea to mix the two?

But they don't list the '76 F100. Looks like only to '72, the previous body style.
Or did I miss it?

Besides, the front and rear are not necessarily the same width anyway, and since one is leaf and one is coil, the mounting scenarios don't necessarily exclude one another.
Nor does being an inch, or even two different, mean it's a no-go situation.
If there's an F100 with a 9" available, I'd at least go take a look at it.

I would think the widths would be close what you need. Certainly the spring perch locations anyway, as the frames between a '76 and a '77 would be pretty much the same thing I thought?
Maybe you get smaller brakes, and 28 vs 31 spline axles?

Good luck.

I'm guessing the front ends are probably an inch or two wider than the rear ends on both trucks - typical for straight axle 4WDs. But the widths of each will be the same for each between the two years - they're essentially identical trucks.
