A freind of mine has a 78 steering colum from a 1978 ford 350 auto i was wondering if this would work in my 74 bronco, i have a wild horse custom lower shaft with flaming river ends. is the spline count the same as my 74 steering colum.

I believe it should be a 3/4 - 36 spline coming out of the steering column. That is what came out of a 78 E-150 Van at least. The column should be 1 of 3 different options, from what Borgeson's website says, a 3/4-36 spline/3/4 DD or 1" DD.
One way or another, it seems like you want to go for a tilt, might as well take out the current one - see if the F-350 will fit - if it does you are done. If not you spend the money at WH. As long as you can be down for a day or two all is good.
