96 bronco needs trans help

hey, i just put on a 79 dana44 in the front and a 9 inch in the back
so i had to disconect al the old brake stuff (anti lock) Now my speedo doesnt work. I know the 8.8 had that stuff in it .
but now my trans is shifting hard... too hard the air bag ,engine, and brake lights are on what gives ???

Not many of us have hair bags, anti-lock , or 8.8 rear ends. We didn't have that stuff 30 years ago. You may want to check one of the big bronco sites. If you go down to the bottom of the page and click on Top 4X4 sites you can find their sites listed. Thanks for the vote too ;D

just from dealing with this a little, sounds like you have something else unplugged or that the ABS plug was in power series with the speedo and shifter control. If this is what happened, try making a jumper plug for your abs. This will restore power back to the other sensors. This is just a possibility. Check out BigBroncos.com... they have all the stuff for the newer models. Also try ford truck forums, someone will be a little better suited to answer this..

Your rearend must have a vss sensor and the 9" DOES NOT. Here I did this search for you.

Good luck---Did you do all your homework on the rearend swap? It can be done but it is pretty tough if I remember correctly (getting a 9" to work properly in a late bronco that is.)
