I have a Mountaineer that I already bought for my Bronco project. I found a 96 coming up on an online auction that I may be able to get bought cheap. What else is of value on these vehicles. I know some use the auto transmission when doing this Explorers/Mountaineer swap. What is the transmission worth? How about the rear axle and transfer case? I was trying to figure out how much money I can spend on this auction. I know I could sell engine and/or front drive kit, along with the wiring harness. Thanks.

The first year for the 5.0 engine in the Mountaineer was 1997

Not enough from any Mountaineer without a 5.0 fits a Bronco to justify buying the whole thing.

The auctioneer told me it had a 5.0 in it. He could be wrong about the year. I better go look at it myself to be sure.

I just looked up the sale bill. The Mountaineer is a 98 model.

Transmission, rear axle, engine all have value. Rear disc brakes bolt up to a medium duty 9 inch...
