Not trying to hijack the thread but whats a "good quality" spray gun for the money for home paint work?
Make sure you get a gun with multiple size needles and follow paint manufacturer fluid tip sizes. Gravity fed, high volume low pressure also

Top is on the rotisserie, so it is next before I start wiring and bolting on parts.

I suggest a cheaper HVLP gun for the primers and such. If you are doing base coat clear cost then the cheaper gun can work for the base coat also. The clear usually works better with a better gun.

The Harbor Freight purple gun has been known for a good cheap gun.

For the top coat a nicer gun is good to have.

thanks for the Tips, I have always wanted to paint a daily driver and go to something better than spray paint for parts and such.

Top is in epoxy and drying, lizard skin tomorrow and 2 k primer on thurs. block it, paint it , done. That felt so good saying that gonna say it again, done ( with paint and body). Hope someone is motivated by this. Me and friend have been on this project for 6 weeks (averaging about 30 - 40 hours a week combined).

Top is in 2k primer, gets blocked tomorrow. Lizard sound deader is applied on inside of cab and drying.
Rule #8 decide before you build if you want miles and smiles or trophies. Meaning the higher end you build it, the greater chance you want drive it and enjoy it. Only you can decide that but do It up front. For rxample, I have changed directions too many times to count and it cost me……

Blocked to 180, add primer block to 400 and add color. Lizard skin is done. Will paint lizard skin and that will be final no headliner. Top will be painted semi-gloss (50 percent) to hopefully contrast a bit. Satin would too much and hard to clean.
