A/C comp ? on explorer serpentine conversion

I currently have a/c on my 69 bronco. I am doing the explorer serpentine and mustang EFI conversion at the same time while the motor is out. To use the explorer a/c compressor do I simply have to convert the line connections to fit the explorer compressor or is it more detailed than that. My current setup is a bracket on the pass side of the engine that the sanden a/c compressor and the alternator mounts to. A/c comp on top and altlernator on the bottom. I will be moving the compressor and alternator to the other side of the engine with the explorer setup so new lines will be in order. Can I just make these lines with proper mount for the new compressor?

BC has solved many of these issues with existing a/c and the Explorer Serp. Conversion.
Also Vintage can sell you extra long hoses with the right connectors. Then you cut hoses to the right length and have a local hydraulic shop (sometimes Napa) crimp the fittings on.

Yep. I am running this set up with my Vintage Air unit. I had Napa make up conversion hoses to adapt to Vintage Air fittings. Been working great.

That's what I needed to know, thanks. Did either of you run into any problems with clearance between the lower idler pulley and the front cross member. Some say clearance is tight.

I had to notch my frame to clear the idler pulley. Used stock motor mounts but they were new. Marked it, cut it and welded in a piece of pipe.

I believe that bc or vintage air makes an adapter for the vintage lines to the explorer pump. Then it's just a matter of recharging. Make sure you install the ac pump before you put the engine in or you will have to cut access holes in the inner fender to get the bolts in. Lol

I believe you can take the bracket off the head, install the compressor, bolt back onto the head. Not having to pull the engine or butcher the inner fender. Guessing too late for you?

Butchering the crossmember is no longer needed, the smaller pulley has been found and the number was recently listed someplace around here.

There is a local A/C shot I have used to get custom lines made. Doc's Blocks has an adaptor that converts the bolt in line set of the Explorer compressor to a screw on fitting for the generic A/C hose fittings.

Is the BC Bronco bracket pt # 75-25211 to mount Sanden compressor to serpentine bracket off an explorer set up

Here is what their bracket looks like that mounts the Sanden compressor to the Explorer Bracket.

Nos sanden compressor

Bought a new NOS sanden compressor for my serpentine explorer set up no bracket direct Bolt up need 1/4” spacer on all 4 bolts might have to move ps tank most all sanden compressor on eBay are sanden style China a copy . The Ford compressor they’re all rebuilt now reman not the best in my opinion . Back in the late 80s and 90s I did heating and air work on the building at the sanden factory dallas . There wind tunnel is pretty impressive on testing equipment .I also changed out the lower pulley 60 mm gates part number 36079 Comes with the bolt but it’s too big use your original bolt O’Reilly auto parts $35.00 I have about 1 inch clearance from the crossmember to the pulley now

That is for replacing a York compressor. Completely different. With enough drilling, welding, and trimming you might be able to make it work.

1/2 way to everywhere
I'm working on a '97 Explorer conversion to '68 EB. This thread answers almost all of the questions that I've been asking myself. Thanks to all that have contributed!
Side note: Wish there was one big tech document that combined all of the 5.0/4R70W/EFI/PS/AC/serpentine information together.
