Advice for removing battery tray supports?

I need to remove my battery supports and replace them. Can anyone offer any advice beyond grinding the old spot welds and welding the new ones in?

Hey, that didn't even cross my mind! Great idea!

I used a spot weld cutter from the fender well and front clip. I ended up with some big holes. Doing it again, I locate the center of the spot welds and start with a 1/8 drill and work up until they could be poped loose.
