Aeroquip hoses

I have a friend that is going to make me blue PS Aeroquip hoses for free. I was originally going to make the stainless braided ones, but when you are getting them for free who cares. Function over style.

Any way on to my question. I don't have the hydro boost, PS gear, or pump in yet. What length should the hoses be, running from the pump to the hydro boost, then the Hydro boost to the PS gear, and of course the returns going to a dual return pump.

Thanks
Martin

If I were you, I'd wait until you had all those things in place and then determine the lengths you need. The nice thing about using the Aeroquip hose and re-usable ends (assuming you're going that route) is that you can customize the lengths to your routing. You'll want to explore several routing options/lengths once you have everything in place.

x2, need everything in place unless someone on here has the exact same setup and wrote down the lengths...even then I'd mount it all up first.

those hoses also need to have the fittings clocked in the right direction. some of the hp fittings are not the swivel type and the hp hose doesn't twist easily. it took me quite a few tries to get my fittings facing the right way as they twist out of alignment as you tighten the fitting sleeves onto the hose.

Yeah the guy asked me what I wanted the fittings clocked to and I had the deer in the headlights look, was pretty amazed that they needed that info much less could do that for you. I guessed (box wasnt installed yet) and got close enough, it was a bit of a pain to get them cinched down and pointing the way you want them to.

FYI guys I just submitted a tech article on my swap to John, but I didn't mension clocking issues because I used a compression fitting on 1 end of each hose.
