"Alice" LED parking light mod - anyone done this yet?

Has anyone upgraded to LED parking lights for the 70-77 grille, but used the 66-69 lens? I've got a NOS grille that i'm really not feeling like cutting up. But I really like the look of the 66-69 parking lights and am tempted to do the "Alice" mod to it.

I noticed that Jeff's has the following LED kits.. that would probably be easier than frenching in buckets. But the only picture shows the 66-69 mounting holes/tabs

Has anyone built a DIY LED light kit similar to what Jeff's sells? I'm probably going to CNC a 70-77 mounting plate anyhow before I cut up my grille. I just need the LED light boards or a good donor?

My grille has some extra holes in it that are covered by the larger light assembly. I have a pair of smaller assemblies from the '67 grille but then I would have the large ugly holes to deal with on a painted grille. Not sure if yours have those or not.

Good catch.. i didn't notice the extra 'outer' hole in the 70's grille. I have a 69 grille too that has had a little work done to it. I might fill in the trim holes and use it??

When I did mine, I filled the extra holes. I also just used LED bulbs.

Thx Todd. I completely forgot about those plates from Jeff's. I'm pretty sure I might even have a set I bought a few years back. I'm sure I'm not the 1st person to forget and buy the same part twice

No - exactly the opposite. To convert the '69-newer lamps to the 66-68 style.

I did the Alice mod per Todd's instructions ages ago, using amber lenses.

They were a drop-in replacement. I had clear lenses that I never used from the original mod, so I put those on. I'm happy with the change, and I like the look of clear lenses.

I changed to LED-compatible electronic flashers to deal with the flasher issue rather than using ballast resistors. These (though they are available from lots of vendors): https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/Heavy_Duty_Flasher/earlybroncomoreelectrical
Note that electronic flashers are polarity sensitive. I realized that the flasher connectors in my Centech harness were wired backwards. I popped the terminals out of the connector shells and swapped them. Problem solved.

Then found LED replacement bulbs for everything else from superbrightleds.com
No more incandescent bulbs for me.

Were the Centech wires backwards (rare but not unheard of) or were the wires on the new replacement light housings backwards (almost all of them for the last eight or ten years) instead?

Power and ground terminals were reversed in the Centech connector shells compared to the polarity required by the electronic flashers. My harness is 23 years old now though so back when it was made polarity was a non-issue. Amusingly my “new” harness is now almost as old as the harness it replaced (my Bronco is a 1970, manufactured in September, 1969).

i did clear early lens with amber led type bulb. same with the rear, went with early type all red lenses and tapped off brake light to operate lower bulb.
i have a separate strong reverse light mounted on the bumper rack for a reverse/back up light.

Figured i'd update here since i just did this mod. I ended up buying the conversion brackets and LED parking lights from Bronco Graveyard. With the BG LEDs (entire housing) you don't need to trim out the sides to accommodate the bucket since the LEDs are so shallow and part of the unit itself. only ovaling out the hole is required. I highly recommend the BG LEDs. They are so uniform you can't even see the indvidual LEDs inside when they blink. Excellent lights! They also come with the proper flasher.
