Did they make a PS only bracket in alum for vans with No AC?

My 1/2 ton box is pushed back as far as possible, as I have
pitman facing forward. Not the best pic, bit you can see how close
pump is to box, even being up this high.

Getting an 89 5.0 HO from my dads ride (he is getting 331),
so I am finally going EFI/serp. Would like a alum bracket like this, but for sag.

EDIT: Just like this, but have never seen this bracket before for sag.

I'm not aware of any aluminum brackets for Saginaws for the serpentine setup unless you pieced together a setup with parts from about 5 different Fords like I did years ago on mine, which included an unobtanium piece from early Fox Mustangs without air conditioning.

It's not aluminum but Lars Pedersen's bracket that WH sells accomplishes exactly what you want.

You could get a steel bracket and have it flame sprayed with aluminum if appearance is the concern.

Use the aluminum Saginaw van bracket with a Mustang serp and you've got what he's looking for.

It is available without the AC compressor. I have one I pulled off a van at the local junkyard. Instead of the compressor, there's an additional bracket and an idler pulley bolted to the bracket.

Yes, there's certainly that option too. I was thinking he probably wants the pump as high as possible so as to not interfere with the steering box.

OP - would this setup work or would it interfere with your steering box?

Looking at the welds on that last bracket it looks home made from other brackets.

however...rear mount bracket?

Yeah, probably right. For even $70 somthin, I'll probably just modify the one I have.

You could get a steel bracket and have it flame sprayed with aluminum if appearance is the concern.

Appearance not that important, just figured I'd use an alum bracket if avail.

Have that van bracket on my Dad's fox LTD with HB (and sag). Would put pump much too low, pretty much right where I have box now.

Will just mod what I have, but appreciate all the responses.

Although after looking at picks from my dads car, it appears that van bracket could be cut right above the two lowest/outermost mounting bolts and then possibly mounted up higher on the head. Probably still more effort than modding my current bracket.

The nice thing about that rear mount bracket is you don't have ot remove the pulley to install it/remove it

Agree, that is a sweet feature. Luckily (well sort of ), I don't drive my toys enough to wear out even an autozone rebuilt pump, and it needed a pulley the first time it went on, one way or the other.

Also helps I have the correct puller/"pusher" tools for the pulley, so it really is only 3 minutes on/off with air tools.

I have 2 of the E-Series Brackets that I will use for my 77 with Hydroboost that has a Ford Pump that whines really bad currently. The other I will use for the 76 I have in restoration. Both of these Broncos will have AC, but an AC Delete bracket with pulley fits great as well.

The lower edge of the Bracket will have to be trimmed to clear the Early Bronco power steering box. Pictured is a Mechanical Fuel Pump, so the back of the bracket needed minor trimming for clearance too. Total grinding time was 10 minutes, so not much was taken off at all.

The bracket is also mounted on a 351w in the picture. Not sure how different the clearance would be if on a 302/5.0L?

Here is what it looks like trimmed and stock replacement PS Box lines in place.

Looks really close, but hard to tell without birdseye view. My box is right where that bracket would be, but that pic helps me confirm their is no way it would fit, since 351W would sit even higher than 302.

I need one of those Saginaw brackets with the low mount location (no need for AC). With no pick-n-pulls locally- where could you find that bracket??

The A/C bypass pulley and mount can be bought at any autoparts store for $30-$40 if yours has the AC compressor on it now. It bolts right in place of the compressor. I ran the van serpentine setup on my 351W. I had to clearance the PS bracket a little to clear the F250 steeringbox. I also used the wildhorses extreme engine mounts that lift the engine an additional 1/2-3/4".

I got my last one off FSB. It was cheaper to get it with shipping than go pull it and pay for it locally for me (most yards by me will only sell it with pump and sometimes have to buy compressor too).

The universal Bracket that BCB sells is made for a low mount PS unit with a high mount for AC. Without AC an idler pulley can be used. Seems to me that the provision for the AC could be cut off. BCB advertises the bracket will fit many pumps.
Anyway, no issue with clearance to the steering box on my Mustang motor serp setup with a sag pump.
