Any “newer” Exhaust options out there?

Hello Everyone -

So I just finished up my new 302 motor for my 77 bronco and I think this new motor deserves a new exhaust. I’m currently running a full stock exhaust. I’ve done research here on the forum and was curious if there has been anything new that came out? I’m looking for a full exhaust or would maybe prefer to just keep the stock manifolds and get something that connects to those? I was hoping someone like Borla made a kit but I’m not having much luck and it sounds like most people take there bronco to an exhaust shop and have one made due to fitment? Any help would be appreciated, trying to not make too much noise but a nice tasteful sound. :ninja:

if you're running a stock drivetrain (D20, C4, 3speed) the james duff exhausts are a nice option. You can choose from several mufflers, Borla being one of them. I'm running TBP headers with the JD dual exhaust and Borla mufflers. I love it. If i could redo it, i'd go with shorty headers and the JD 2-1 exhaust.

@Shimmy Yeah I am running a C4, thanks for the input. Why would you go with the 2-1 Vs what you have now? Just out of curiosity..

I second james Duff. I have there true dual exhaust on my setup. Monster Mike was very helpful getting me setup. I had some particular things I wanted. I have a 408 with an ax 15 transmission and I wanted the stainless magnaflow mufflers with there awesome ceramic coated long tube headers. He set me up with exactly what I needed and everything fit perfectly.

I haven’t looked up what the venders charge for their exhaust systems, but I paid $880 for a fully custom setup. Both collectors route in to one tube into one magnaflow muffler, that has tow outputs that go to each of the rear corners.

I'm not sure what part of the country you are in, but around here that type of system made locally runs $1000+, easy. I had to pay $1100 for a dual system on a '64 Chevy C10 a couple years back, collectors back with generic Flowmaster clones. This type of work went way up after the pandemic.

This was about a month ago in Salt Lake City from a very reputable exhaust maker. I may have gotten a deal as it was ran through the restoration shop and payment made in cash.

The James Duff aluminized dual kit with Borla's and chrome tips is about $800 plus shipping. Easily under $800 if you don't select chrome tips or go with a cheaper muffler option like flowmaster or cherry bomb. Looks like they changed their magnaflow muffler option to SS.

Their 2-1 is $575 with the same Borla muffler and chrome tip. For that price, its not even worth it to take to a shop and the inconvenience.
