Any Pictures of Cut/Flared Bronco, Not Lifted, With 33x12.50x15's?

My '69 desperately needs new tires. I thought about staying with stock steel wheels and mounting some 31 x 10.50 x 15's on them but I don't think the 31's would do a great job of filling out the cut wheelwells.

Current plan is to get some BFG radial mud terrain or all terrains and mount them on 15 x 7.5 Bronco/F150 wheels. Wheels will be blasted and painted flat black first.

I will tidy up the rear wheelwells and trim the fronts and add flares front and rear.

From what I can tell from threads here, 33's should fit flared wheelwells without any issue.

FYI - suspension is stock; just aftermarket shocks. Sits a bit high in the rear, but I'm going to swap rear springs and/or add aftermarket front springs until it's level. Drivetrain is 302/3 sp/3.50 gears.

Thanks,

Scott

33x12.5 tires will fit with stock suspension, that is the tire I run on my 74 bronco, my wheel backspacing is 3.75 though and my fender flares are cut

Here is a video from wild horses showing 33x12.5 tires on stock height suspension, it helped me decide on the 33 instead of 35 inch tires

I hope the video helps, if the video doesn’t work I typed in early bronco 33x12.5 on YouTube

These are 33x10.5 15s with no lift. I wanted a narrower tire to fit under the body better.

Thanks for all the pics and input!

I know your asking about 33’s.... I wanted to share a pic of my rig running a WH suspension w/ BFG KO2 32x11.5 on 15x8’s. If you any reservations about rubbing, I found 32’s to be a good compromise and hey fill out the wheel wells.

Thanks for the pics and details. I’m torn between the 32 x 11.5 x 15 and the 33 x 12.50 x 15. The 32’s are probably the better option for me.

33 X 12.5 X 15 with a 2.5" lift, just for reference. Same tires/wheels on my '92 with no lift.

First off, your fenders are NOT flared. The fronts are not even cut and the rears are not cut as much as the normal flared rear is. So as you can see with the other pics, your results may vary from the others' experiences.
Your front is definitely lower than the rear, but it looks to me like the front might be sagged a bit. Making fitting 33's a bit more of a guess.

From my standpoint, 31's fit the fender openings of a cut Bronco at stock height just fine. But 32's are better. That was the go-to size traditionally through the late seventies and even the early eighties before 33x9.50's and 10.50's were common. And they fit well too.
The wider 33's might be what you want if you are trying to literally fill the wheel wells, but in the past many of us preferred a little less "fill" so that when we were out four-wheeling we could stretch the suspension a bit and not hit the body. More and more today to prefer the full look, but it leaves less room for error.
Getting new springs in there will help for sure, but cutting your fenders even more is a good start as well.

Good luck.

Appreciate all the input. Looks like the motor sh*t the bed so I need to address that before I spring for new tires.

Thanks

I am running 33-12.50-15 on 10 inch rims with 3.5 inch lift! I like the look a lot better than the 32-10.50's I was running before.

32 x 11.50 x 15 FTW (For the Win)!!! Saw these on FB Marketplace today and pulled the trigger. $200 for the set - they look like OG Gumbo Mudders, but they're radials. Wheels look like they might be 78-79 Bronco 15 x 8.

Looks 100% better!

Still sits a bit high in the back, but I'll address that soon enough.
