thought that matt grey color was pretty cool. anybody catch the exact color? looked like they sprayed it with regular clear not satin. Toms bronco parts provided a lot of the parts. know it was a rerun but my first time seeing it.

The wheels ruined it. They do that a lot with most of the cars……19's in the front 20's in the back……like a broken record.

To do a satin paint job you just add a flattening agent to the clear coat. It goes on shiny just like normal then dulls as it dries. You can also play with the amount of gloss by adding more or less of the flattening agent.

I done a '50 Ford truck last week satin red. First pic is about 15mins after last coat of clear, 2nd is 10hrs latter.

I loved the color of the bronco and the stance was awesome, I however was not a fan of the wheels either just completely ugly, I also didn't care for the color they painted the motor it was just odd throwback to an old Chevy, they should have sprayed ford blue...

bitchin, it looked liked they did not flatten the clear, that is where I got confused. the color was called matte grey, maybe I got confused because they called it matte, thinking it was a satin or flat color. if you look at my build thread you will see where I modded my firewall like they did. it was a pretty easy mod. I did not like the wheels and I def did not like engine color.

I wasn't paying close attention, but I was thinking they just painted it Ford Engine Red. Either would go well with that gray, but I agree, if it was me, would have went with the blue too.

I do remember them saying the dude would take it off-road, but when I think of off-road, those wheels wouldn't last. Think it looked good nonetheless.

I was fortunate enough to be able purchase the '66 bumpers from the matte grey Overhaulin' Bronco for my wife's '66 Bronco ;D They've changed the wheels since the show as well, there is a ton more work and what not that goes on after the show that we don't get to see on TV. I've taken photos for MHT Alloys / US Mags / Fuel offroad who make the wheels for Foose. If you want to see ugly wheels on a Bronco you should see what Keifer Sutherland put on his Bronco that Chip restored for him :-X

I actually talked with that guy and his wife at this years fabulous fords forever , nice people . His bronco looked pretty good in person , the interior was very nice , fit and finish were spot on . As said above they did finish it in a week ,well enough to get a show, after the show they tell you to drive it and make a list of all the things that don't work properly and in his case leak ( rear main seal ) . Than just bring it back and they'll fix it . 3 months down the road he got his bronco back. Never did say how much it ended up costing him in the long run , you have to pay the taxes and such , but I guess that would be a lot cheaper than the full bill with over 400 man hours in the body work alone .

As a side note he also told me he was in the market for another bronco to wheel in , that one doesn't see much dirt .

I got to go by their shop and talk with Mark who painted the Bronco. They painted the Bronco with regular clear, wet sanded, and once perfect, shot it with one last coat of satin clear. Here are pictures of the actual paint that went on the Bronco (I took pictures of it because I liked the color as well).
