Anyone think of building a cb.com forum Bronco??

Had an interesting idea this morning...

Have we ever tried to build a forum Bronco purely out of donated parts from members and vendors?

I'm not referring to "Operation Baghdad Bronco" (although that was very cool in its own right), I'm talking about building something unique and different using just donated parts.

Something like a custom LUBR or maybe even a lowered, chopped & turbo'd half cab cruiser, or a dedicated trail rig/truggy.

Something a team of locals would build for the fun of it, vendors could advertise on it, and maybe even raffle it off at the end to one lucky member who contributed to the donation or build.

Could this work????

Not funny. I would donate a steering wheel though!

Perhaps you could pry one of those Pine Tree Air Fresheners from your grasp and find it in your good heart to part with one.

It is a very cool idea, but have you every seen anything built by a committee? This is going to be the ugliest Bronco ever built. :)

I am up for donating parts! Let us know.

Thanks,

Chris B.

It would have to be a group effort - perhaps somewhere where this is a large population of Bronco guru's who are looking for a collabative project.

I'd love to be able to do something like this but I swear I'm the only person with a Bronco in western NY.

That would be fun to watch no matter where you are in the country. We could have list of parts thread, and people in the same area could ship different items together.

I think it's a great idea, but I would vote for a stock resto, and a 66 - that would be the best representation - that where it all starts from!

I'll donate if I have anything that is needed!

The community truggy project is on hold till we have a shop to use but I still think it would happen. The only issue I have not really been able to figure out is liability issues with a community rig but I really want to do it and we have the parts and local talent to pull it off here.

spare parts bronco

In a few years when I move out to California, I will be attempting to build a bronco from the ground up using free parts off of the classic broncos free classifieds forum. You guys have so many parts you are giving away out there it makes me want to get out there as soon as possible. Where are all the free parts in Michigan?

Who would own the vehicle in the end? Would it be like a time share with yearly dues and high maintenance costs?

Raffle it.

Donate the money to a Tread Lightly! or another organization that keeps trails open in the name of the forum.

I love the idea, and I have a front axle for it, in decent shape right now, ready to go. Some other stuff too.

I like the idea of Raffeling it off at the end or we could put it on E-bay and like Gummi said, donate the money to a worthy 4X4 cause.

I have a few parts to donate.

This could be something that could get a lot of support and money for what ever charity if it was properly advertised and well built, even if it was with donated parts. I have seen donor parts that have gone to the scrapper that I would have used in the past. I am sure that i could find something to throw in.

I like the raffle idea. Maybe we should build one for each region so more people can put there hands on it. I have lots of parts up here in western Washington. I would even considering doing it at my shop.
