I'm finally getting around to putting the F150 box in my truck and I want to go ahead and tap into the box for hydraulic assist, has anyone here done this? Where did you drill into the box? I have several links and alot of info for this mod but nothing specific to this box.

Thanks

I have not done it on my bronco (will shortly)...but i have done it on my F150, and i simply took the pump and box off, shipped it off to PSC, $575 later and about 4 hours it was on my truck. Love it, highly recommend PSC.

did i mention they completely rebuilt my pump and box, sandblaster and painted them.

I had my first one done by PSC (on my 79 rock crawler). They claim it is better to weld the fittings in the control valve housing as you get better flow from there (sorta makes sense as that is where the HP line connects). They claim you can not tap that housing as it is too thin.

Anyway, I have a 78 bronc on 36's that is welded front and rear (a beater wheeler I threw together with lotsa spare parts). So my buddy gave me some lines, I got a cheapo ram from surplus center and used the stock ford pump. It steers very slow (2" ram), but it does steer (which it barely would before with the welded front diff).

So, I do have detailed pics of where I tapped the box. I would imagine with a decent sag pump and 1.5" ram, it should work almost as good as where PSC taps it from, but I can't be sure as I don't have two identical setups (with only the port spots different) to compare.

Pics below. all the pics here.

OX1 is the man...that's exactly what I was looking for. I have a sag pump and 1.5" cylinder so I'll let you know how well it works.

Thanks
