Anyone Using Lokar Throttle and Kickdown Cables?

Ditching the Edelbrock and going to try Q-jet.

Anyone using the Lokar stuff and how do you like it? How well does the kickdown work and does the throttle cable line up nicely through the firewall to the carb?

I know I could modify the stock throttle linkage but thought it would be clean to go all Lokar.

Pictures would be cool too.

I have a Holley T/A But I used both the Lokar throttle and kick down cable.
Flawless. Will never go back.

I've just installed the kickdown on my edelbrock. Works good so far but I had no kickdown previously .

Did a universal Lokar once. Learned a lesson. Make sure you line up the cable. The first one I did I just jabbed the ferrel into the firewall and strung the cable straight to the pedal. It worked. After about 6 months the throttle was getting real sticky. Found the ferrel was being cut into by the cable. It didn't look that bad when I put it together, but it wasn't a straight pull. Another cable later I straightened out the pull. You can't make it perfect due tot he arc of the pedal, but it wasn't a continuous side load like before. After that I never had a problem with it and would use them again. Actually I just did. Lokar makes a monster long cable that I used in my jet boat. The best that throttle has ever worked in the nearly 20 years I have owned that boat.

I used them both the kickdown and the throttle cable on a 302. Using a Holley style carb and they worked great. Also very easy to install. Converting to efi at the moment and these are cut to length for a carb. If they don't work for my Explorer EFI conversion I would be glad to sell them to you for a reasonable fee. They are like new.

Here's a couple pics. The size of the 351 makes for quite a bend in the cable to hit the throttle hole. Could be the Q-Jet configuration also.

running both on mine and I have q-jet mounted backwards so the cable has to make a 180 to pull the throttle. Works great no issues.
