Got mine on Monday. Been busy with work so I haven't had a chance to look at them real close yet. I like what I've seen so far, but I really want to get a good look at the castings. I was surprised they came unpainted/un-pc'd; I was expecting them to look like the picture in the catalog. Here's a pic of mine, with a stock radius arm in the middle.

The picture we posted had components painted in 3 different colors so you could see that the radius arms were modular. We considered having them coated, but we were getting lots of requests for them to be bare so the customer could paint/powder coat to match their Bronco. We also factored in a 2-3 week additional delay for powder coating and decided not to hold up the arms any longer.

The bracket on the left is a caster camber corrector tool. It is used to measure the caster on each arm.

UPS just dropped off my set. Gave them a quick once over and everything looks good. Stupid question on the second pic, does anyone know what the black tab under the lock nut is for?

Another stupid question, how do you use the caster camber corrector tool?

Nothing is powder coated! You were waiting for months the heads to be casted... plenty of time to get the rest of the parts powder coated. I see two colors in the picture? Black and blue. I kinda expected the heads not to be powder coated but the arms and brackets should be black just like the picture. If its the wait your worried about I can wait. If your saying its an option please send mine powder coated just like in the picture.

Thanks
John

Sorry I was not part of this buy but I would feel a little ripped off with there being no explanation of paint color for demonstration only and feeling like I was getting a painted or coated part. Just my two cents on that one.
Green_Bastard are there no instructions with the arms at all? That just seems odd you would think there would be something there to at least inform you of how the adjustable caster works and what torque specs you should have on all the other bolts.
Sorry if there are instructions on your guys website your pretty good about that just seems odd that it appears there's questions about how to adjust things.

I am happy that mine came bare. I was wanting to go with my own colors so this works out great for me. Sorry that it doesn't work out for all like that tho.

I would agree that some instructions on the extra tab, the caster tool, and the torque of the bolts would be handy. I hope that they get something up on their website or in this thread soon for that.

I am a little bothered by the lack of paint/powder coat simply because it was never mentioned until now. If that was the case, it should have been disclosed a long time ago and not after people started receiving the arms and asking why. When I got in on this mass buy, I was under the impression I was buying the arms as they appear in post #1. That being said, I have a lot of stuff to bring to the powder coater and will add these in. What really bothers me is that there are no instructions at all, nothing. As for the quality of the parts, everything appears to be as it should. Only time will tell.

Hopefully Gretchen gets on here and see that we would like some instructions and bolt torque info for the items. Hopefully she will get the shop guys to put something together for us.

All of the delays and disappointments with this mass buy have really bummed me out! That said, I want these arms on my current bronco and as dumb as this sounds would like them for another that I have for a future build?? The only concern I have at this point, is that these heads that took so long to get are cast out of chromoly! Anyone know how to tell and anyone that has there arms could check into that? Since there not poweder coated, might be easy to tell?

I’ve got clarification on a few things. The small tab is for the brake lines. Information on the caster tool can be found here, and the torque specs are listed below.

The large bolts that sandwich the plates together – 100 ft-lbs
Heim to frame jam nut – 100 ft-lbs
Heim to arm bolt – 100 ft-lbs
Cap bolts are the same as the original, I believe 90-110 ft-lbs
The bolts for the shocks would be the same as the originals but I’m not sure what they are.

edit
I think I was wrong on the original torque of the cap bolts. Looks like TBP has it listed as 153 ft-lbs on this article http://www.tomsbroncoparts.com/page...-early-ford-broncoc-bushing-kit-installation/

Does it look like the "c" is much bigger on the BC arms than it is on the stock arm?

Glad to see you got the specs and I was not trying to knock bc product just seems a little miss leading to show a picture of painted or coated parts and not inform people that they come bare steel. Yes that works great for some who want to custom paint powder coat them their self but for others thats another added expense.

I have been gone a while and have not been able to post. But maybe I can shed a little light on this thread. The whole thing took longer than was stated but not that much extra. After the problems with the 3ed set of 1/4 panel protectors that ended up less than the first two sets I think we learned to not except the manufactures word that they are"just right". So we kept after them until we had a "just right" set in hand. It took a little longer but the heads are right.
We should have let everyone know about the no paint but at the same time we didn't say anything about the caster tool or brake tabs being included either.
IMO Powdercoating is not a good idea for radius arms that will be used because the coating will be messed up the first trip and not easy to fix where paint is easy, rattle can to cover.
PS The cap is slightly larger but will interchange with a stock cap on a stock arm or you could use a stock cap on our arms.

WOW! How can you say that. Do you realize how long its been? On January 8th 2014, in the very first post of this thread, you stated this can "take as much as 5 months to complete after the mass buy ends." By my interpretation, the mass buy ended on April 4th 2014 when Cactus Killer posted "I placed the order for the arms. We should have them soon." I realize that 5 months was an estimate but that 5 months ended at the beginning of September 2014. I got my arms the second week of April 2015. That's a full 7 months later than was expected. To make it worse, the communication from BCB on the status of the arms was almost nonexistent.

As for the powder coating, while it may not be a good idea in your opinion, That is what you advertised and what people expected. While you didn't say they were powder coated in the description, you also didn't say they were not but you did include a picture of the finished product that was powder coated, or at least painted. That IS advertising it as being so. And then to justify the lack of powder coat that's gonna run at least $100 by saying you included 3 pieces of small sheet metal, what a joke. BCB needs to wake up and take a close look at their customer service.

All that being said, I am happy with the arms but had I known it would take a full year to get them, I would have looked to another venter.

Chuck, had you simply said BCB messed up, were sorry for the long delay and we appreciate your patience and understanding, everything would have been good and thats good customer service. However, you tried to justify BCBs position on this and I have to say it really pissed me off.
