Will Beadlocks pass CO safety inspection?

Just curious if anybody has had their rig rejected for a CO safety inspection because of beadlocks?

I think the only time you need to get a safety inspection in CO is when you get a CO title. So if I could just get by once then I can take my chances with tickets.

Hmmm.... When I was in Texas I got my Barracuda to pass by buying a steering wheel from a junk yard and putting it on long enough for the inspection. Afterwards I put the other smaller steering wheel right back on it.

What Colorado safety inspection??? There is no such thing. Yes, you may have to get the VIN verified if you're moving here from out of state or bringing a vehicle here, and on the front range they have the smog test, but they haven't done safety inspections here for years.

Oh and BTW, there is NO law in CO that they could use to give you a ticket for beadlocks.

another good point, heim steering like bullet proof and my custom setup is illegal too, stronger than stock? yes. legal? NO
hydrollic steering is another definately illegal, not dot approved.
I found the law about hydo steering but could not find anything about heim steering being illegal. Can you give me the info where you found the law about Heims?

Hmmm... I wonder about Oregon and Washington. I've been considering going to full hydro to make it easier to move the front axle forward.

This is another subject that Scott at Rockstomper has looked into extensively, and to date, he's found no state law anywhere that would make full hydro steering illegal.

Keeping on the tangent of Full Hydro - If you do go that way, please be very meticulous of the system you use. Most are too slow to be used safely on the highway at highway speeds.

Just FYI, when I moved back to CO from WA state I had to get a safety inspection and an emissions test before I could transfer the title. The safety inspection cost like $15-$25. It was easy no problem because it was a totally stock Integra. I'm dreaming of buying a built Bronco, but I think that might some more attention.

Whatever "safety inspection" you got is NOT statewide. Maybe it's a Boulder thing...wouldn't surprise me. %) We've lived in Denver, Arvada, Longmont and now Grand Junction, and have NEVER had any kind of "safety inspection" on any vehicle we've owned or registered. I've asked a few friends on the front range, and they've never heard of this either. ?:?

BTW, if you haven't already, you should join www.colorado4x4.org. Lots of local people and info.

I reside in Westminster/broomfield and have been in the state on and off all my life. the State got rid of the Safety inspections back in the late 70's early 80's.
If the "inspection" was 15 and the emissions was 15 or was this one charge, of 30 bucks?
There is nothing that I know of that is mandating a "state safety inspection"
And I had a friend move here from Wyoming and he didn't have to do anything except the emissions test.
