Are piston bearings safe to replace without machining the crankshaft?

Took my crank and cam to the machine shop. They are polishing the crank surfaces and cleaning the oil lines. They convinced me to get all new main and rod bearings to be on the safe side. Camshaft looked good. There was no cylinder ridge, so therefore no bore taper.

I think I should be good to go on the machining side.

Just going to have to double check my piston ring gaps.
