I've got all my fittings figured out but I can't be sure on this one. It's the low pressure return line barb fitting on the 1995 Astro Van booster. I found a thread that states it's a 3/8" Nipple, and another that says it's 5/8" barb, and yet another that says it's 5/16-24 o-ring.

I just need to know what fitting I need to adapt the booster to -6 AN.

5/16-24 O-ring Male to AN-6 Male 5/8 Hex Size ?

The barbed fitting on the HB is just pressed in. You don't need an AN style fitting. It's low pressure, just drips a little back to the PS reservoir. Mine is plumbed to a tee. I'm not sure why some people have problems using a tee, but I guess they do.?:? I've done five HB, all with Astro Van boosters, different style pumps (Saginaw, Explorer) all using Tee's for the return. It's never given me a problem.

Oh man.....that's the 4th size I have now:). Are you sure it's press in? Guess I should order the booster and see for myself.

All my plumbing is AN where possible. The reservoir has 2 returns.

It's not any type of standard threading, more of a press fit type fitting. Get some nice quality hose for your returns and some good hose clamps, that should look nice with those AN fitting HP hoses. No Tee in the return? You better not have any foaming issues.

Why would I need a T if both the booster and gear have their own direct returns to the reservoir? Am I missing something?

Perfect....I'll just use the -6AN as that's 3/8s with a hose clamp and cover. Thanks for your help.

And to answer your original posting - yes, that's the fitting that threads into the hydroboost for the low pressure return line.

Congrats - I've never found it anywhere else other than Hydratech, which wants significantly more for it:

Scroll to the bottom to find it. I wanted all AN fittings on mine as well so I have it on mine.

There are different return fittings for different vehicles, I pulled a return fitting from a junk yard 70's something Ford LTD, threw it in the pile of stuff and they didn't charge me for it. Go find a self service Pick N pull.

That would work if I was looking for the stock fitting. The one I want adapts the booster to -6AN as above. I have the booster enroute from a seller on eBay now so I'll check it out when it arrives. Thanks.

Sorry airbur for the misinformation, I guess the return fitting on mine has been overtightened to the point where the threads are about gone. My Bad.

Airbur, what fitting did you end up using for the Low Pressure side?

Thanks
