Atlas II install pointers

Got My Atlas II today. planning on installing it Saturday. Anyone have any pointers or things that I might look out for? Advice? it is going behind a C4 using the original intermediate housing. Oren at Advance Adapters said it would bolt right up. clock it how I like

One question I do have is that I bought new gaskets for the intermediate housing but the one that would go between the IH and the atlas doesnt fit around the atlas output shaft snout. I previously had a drip from the IH and would like to elminate all leaks if possible.

Any advice or wisdom is welcome. I have a good bunch of LEBC guys coming to help so i'm sure it will go smoothly

thanks

I did the exact same swap - RTV will work where that gasket doesn't fit, mine came with some red stuff.

I installed WITHOUT a body lift, not sure what you are working with, but I cut the following hole and also used a hammer to message the under body support a bit.

Here it is installed-

The Atlas 2 does hang down low - you can clock it up, but I'm pretty sure you need to start cutting into the frame, which I really wish I could have done...

My Cage arms are directly next to where the Atlas sits - I really wish I could have cut a chunk out of the frame rail and filled it in with some 1/4" c channel so the Atlas could sit inside of the rail a little bit. I had to build a skid plate under mine and now all of a sudden I am bottoming out on break overs - I make a completely flat plate, so it could be part of it, but I still want to keep it protected.

Here are my install pics -

Take a look through my build thread - I usually take detailed notes.

Good luck, shoot me a PM is you need any questions answered. Install the shifters and then install it in the truck - no way to attach them after you get the Atlas installed..

You should be fine with that 2" body lift - should have to do any torching or banging :p
