Axial AX10 Deadbolt - EB R/C Possibilities...

My friends at Axial sent me one of their pre-release copies of the new AX10 Deadbolt R/C crawler to check out. It appears to have some Bronco in its pedigree, and also some EB possibilities for mods, so I thought I'd show it off.

Its based on their original AX10 comp chassis with a few mods. The body looks to be based on the "Concept" Bronco that Ford has shown off at various car shows over the past few years.

While its not an EB, it definitely has some EB cues, like the Concept Bronco did. The ridges along the upper front fenderlines, for one. And the hood scoop, while not factory-EB, is very reminiscent of those many of us use from the EB aftermarket. The grille is definitely shaped to resemble the Concept Bronco. But I think I can design a replacement grille sticker that will make it look a lot more EB-like. The 45* cuts on the lower grille corners are similar to what a lot of folks do with their 1:1 crawler Broncos.

I think I can shave that lower rocker panel piece off, make it look better. Coco (behind it) is like that. Maybe some new stickers to make the body sides more EB-like.

Not a bad looking cage on it!

Looks better than my old school AX10 :)

Like I said this is a pre-release press copy, so they're not quite available yet. They should be in hobby shops in about 3-4 weeks. Here's Axial's info page for it in case anyone wants to check it out: http://www.axialracing.com/products/ax90033

BTW, I do not work for Axial. I know a few of the guys over there as we work with them closely through my employer, Poison Spyder. We do not sell these and I'm not trying to pimp. They sent me one to check out so I'm happy to show it off, as I'm sure some of the other R/C fans on here might find it interesting like I did.

I have a Dynamic Concepts Bronco Body that Kurt gave me years ago, I was always going to put it on my other AX10 and never got around to it (sorry Kurt!). Anyhow it looks like it will fit pretty good on there.

Then again, I may just keep the stock body, paint the doors yellow and the fenders and hood white...the grille's already the right color LOL...
