Have any of you guys been up to bald mountain near shaver lake in CA? I have gone up a couple time in the last few weeks. Really nice views once you get towards the top.

The main trail isn't very hard but there are side trails that are little more difficult. Thought I would share some pictures. If any of you guys go trail riding in that area it would be fun to meet up with other broncos.

Brother of an acquaintance was killed up there when his rig rolled off the steep route up the side to the lookout tower. There may still be a marker there.

No longer even sure exactly where this is as it was a very long time ago, but it's near the tower somewhere. Probably can't drive there now. He's locked up and still sliding it was so steep there:

The way I took was not too steep and there are blue marks on the rock showing where to drive to get to the lookout tower. There are a lot of steep areas that I could see being unsafe to be on but I don't think you are suppose to be on it now.

It’s been a few years, but I’ve been up there a few times including the Dusi/Ershim trail. This is the fire lookout on Bald Mtn.

I've been going up there for years. It is defintely a great view from the tower. Swamp Lake and Coyote Lake are my favorite trials.

I knew someone would point that out! The transfer case kept popping out of gear so I was wearing the normal seatbelt so I could reach it

Are there any trail maps that you know of? I’d like to try more of the trails in the area but this is the only one I know of at the moment

You can get maps at the Ranger station on the way up to Shaver Lake. Some of interest are Bald Mountain that you did, Brewer Lake, Coyote-Red Lakes, Mirror-West-Strawberry Lakes, Spanish Lake, Voyager-Chicken Rock and White Bark Vista. Our group did several of these 4 years ago based in Wishon Village.
