Man that was a nice looking '78 FJ 40 went through last night for 33k I believe. Did anyone see it up close?
I will have to look now for sure. I am DVRing the auction. I like looking at how people have restored the old 40's.

I would love to have one n know where one is sitting it's just seems ever time I'm in that area I'm pushed for time n just haven't yet.
They are pretty rare around here.
I have seen two others (besides mine) in my area. And only ran across them once and I wasn't in mine, was driving and just got a glance. I know mine gets lots of waves and thumbs up. Many a time I have come out of a store and someone is taking pictures. One kid was walking around and around it and when I walked up he said "What is this? I love it". He looked to be 18 years old. It took me a year to find the one I settled on to buy. Looked at lots that were pretty rough and not original. I wanted one that was stock.
It is noisy, bouncy and slow, but I love it. I have to say that it is a toss up though regarding the Bronco and the 40. Both have their charm. My Bronco is going to get me a ticket I fear. No worry ever driving the 40. 0 - 60 some day. Was in the Bronco heading down Rt360 (four lane with wide median) a few weeks ago. Was overtaking a BMW something other and met a state trooper. He threw on his lights and pointed at me. I slowed. He didn't turn around, so just a warning. Whew. If I had been in the 40 he'd have pulled me over for holding up traffic.
Don't mean to jack FRANKO's thread but saw this one while back at the Buster Miles all ford show in Alabama sitting in the parking lot.

Hey Half Cab! I may have already mentioned the specifics on that Cruiser, (I can't remember) but it belongs to my neighbor. I think it is a '83 and it is original except for the tires and wheels...less than 50k miles. I think it had less than 15k on it when he bought it, but he's had it for a long while!
