Watched Mecum on/off the last few days... Impressive sales pricing on many vehicles. A few Broncos at over $100K that did not sell?

One of the best I've seen in a while. Kinda mad I didn't bite the bullet and snatch it up. Oh well, maybe next time!
Was watching that one - really neat rig for certain. Would’ve been a nice addition to either of your your stables!

I've noticed some impressive results again on BAT lately too. Up and down markets are fun to watch.

Helped a buddy sell his Bronco on BAT this week and he was happy with the results: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-ford-bronco-220/

There was another guy that couldn’t be available at auction close that would have paid higher so would have been interesting had he been there.

Yeah, I saw that. Was there a noticeable difference in quality and driving experience in comparison to the 2 Highline builds you had?

Virtually zero difference other than the significant difference between the four speeds I had in my 2 builds and the ten speed. Never knew what I was missing, I suppose, but the difference in how the power is actually delivered on a 10 speed is night and day. I'm not sure how much savings I would need to choose a 4 speed over a 10, but it's more than the difference in cost of the two transmissions new if building a Bronco.

I pressed go on another Highline build to be completed over this upcoming Summer. There were some nice upgraded touches that I'll incorporate into my next build (IE: better AC vents, push button start, some billet interior items, etc). I really like the carpet they used in this build, but not enough to pay for the upgrade from standard black. The difference in cost between a Gateway and Highline is significantly more than the value (my opinion) if choosing between them new.

The 6.7L didn't sell! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-ford-bronco-222/#comments-anchor

Gotta vent a little here. Seller lists a 74 and insists it's a 6.7 liter. BAT changes the listing to say 6.7L. I comment and ask what engine exactly is a 6.7L? That's 408 or 410 ci. So I speculate it's likely a 351W bored and stroked to 408. Seller ignores my question until someone else asks him to answer it. Seller claims he does not know (no shit!) but provides some better pics of the engine. I thank him for the pics and tell him the Edelbrock Performer 289 manifold indicates it's a 289 or 302 block. I don't believe you can bore and stroke a 302 to 6.7L/408 ci.

I ask him why he thinks it's a 6.7? His answer - that's what the inspection report said!

He supplied an inspection report from AiM - Alliance Inspection Management. Other than the comment section on the first page, the inspection report is total bull shit. ALL inspection items are marked Green (indicating "Inspected and is OK") except for 2 items. The items marked Green included: Air conditioner, Seat cooling, Seat heat, Cruise control, Fog lights, Rear windshield wiper arm, Remote key fob, power windows (one hand crank was broken off!), Rear entertainment system and controls, and many other items non-existent on the Bronco. BaT should have screened this one a lot better. Seller obviously knows nothing about Broncos and nothing about the vehicle he was selling.

Rant over.

I apologize if the seller is a member here! LOL

Yep that one was a bit scrary. That 6.7 statement was a head scratcher. The pictures did not show any of the historic corrosion areas and appeard to have had several spots filled over waiting to be a problem later. It may have been a good no reserve auction with a better (more knowledgeable) response from the seller. Agreed, that inspection report was a joke. I hope he didn't actual pay someone for that.
