Just bought the DieHard Platinum group 31 battery yesterday and this thing weighs a ton. I'm thinking of possibly relocating it to the back of the bed. I did a search to check into it and didn't come up with much. Has anyone done this yet that has good tips?

to me having a battery in passenger compartment is a bad thing unless yours is a half cab. long battery cables can cause problems too. underneath your under hood battery holder is a large steel beam-like thingy that was designed to support a heavy battery so it shouldn't be a problem.

True, but I've got so much weight in the front already, I'd like to shift some of it toward the rear of the vehicle. Also, the battery wouldn't cook under the hood in this Texas heat.

get you some big old welding cable to use for battery cables. probably want some type of enclosed case to put it in so battery acid doesnt get all over everything and cause corrosion.

Was planning on using 2 guage cable. the battery is an AGM so there won't be any spillage. Still planned on getting a battery box for it for post protection and aesthetics.

moved mine last winter. less wt over frt axle! now behind pass. fender about 6 inchess inches above floor so I can extend wheelwell ltr . Pos is 1/0 HD welding cable run thru frame. Works great, multiple long pulls with HS9500 i no issues. do it :) AGM's are mountable in any position, no fumes, ever.

You must run a larger cable than a 2. Error oversized on battery cables.
