the best way to lower under temp is to vent out the hot air out. Check out www.americanbronco.com for their vented fender skirts it was on bronco driver magazine a while ago.

Hood scoops generally don't alleviate pressure under the hood at high speeds due to the fact that there is a low pressure area at the back of the hood. It is for this reason why most manufacturers put the vents just before the windshield because air more readily flows into the cabin. The best way to get the "pressure" out from under the hood is to allow it to flow out the fenderwells by means of a body lift or perforated fender wells. A cowl or duct in the hood will not force air out, it will bring more in behind the engine and hamper cooling.

or the influx of air from a scoop could help push some of that hot air down. But really you probably wont see any noticeable change in engine temp with a scoop unless other mods are done.
