So I'm looking at Beard and Master Craft seats. These can cost some coin when you start adding options. Has anyone seen, felt, and used both? Is there any real difference? I'm comparing a Super seat to a Sportsman or Rubicon. I saw the Beard post anyone using MC? What do you think? Thanks in advance.

beards and prp are allmost exactly the same, mastercraft are thought to be al ittle better, they have chromally tig welded frame, but thats all the differences i know, they also cost more.

I've had both. I had Beards for about 6 years and now run Mastercrafts (their "Original" model-similar to the Sportsman and Rubicon).

Hands down, Mastercraft is better. Seat fabric is higher quality. The biggest differences are in the foam construction (Mastercraft uses more and is strategically placed for better comfort, imho) and how the seat cover/foam is attached/tensioned. Beards, and most others, basically use a big shoestring to tension everything up, and like your shoes, that string stretches and loosens and the seats lose a lot of their comfort. Mastercrafts use flat, wide nylon strapping and a more secure method of keeping everything together. It's tough to explain but if you flip each of the seats upside down and look things over, it's easy to see the differences in quality.

Hey Tod u got some pics? I was thinking of the Mastercrafts myself...

I have some pics of my Mastercrafts at home on my computer, but I don't have any shots of the underside that show the differences between them and the other makes.

PRP, Beard and Mastercraft were all at the TDS safari last year. I sat in all three. PRP and Beard were nice, but the mastercrafts were clearly more comfortable. I was lucky enough to get a used set of MCs recently. They definitly beat what I had.

I run the PRP Dailey drivers. Lower side bolsters for easy entry and exiting while still provideing plenty of support and comfort. Plus they now have seat mounts that bolt their seats directly to the stock Early Bronco seat locations.

Heck... they don't even add any height to the seats like the Beard mounting brackets do; I would rather look out the window than the top rail of the windshield frame.
