1977 Seat Foam Needed

I've read numerous posts on the topic of seat foam and want to make sure I'm getting the right stuff. Has anyone used the new bronco seat covers with the TMI premium 1968-69 Mustang Standard foam (SF33-V)? From the pictures that I've looked at on CJ Pony Parts, the BRSF4-V Bronco foam looks a little different than the SF33-V Premium Mustang foam. The Premium Mustang foam is TMI (with listing wires molded in), but the "Bronco" foam is another brand. If anyone has experience regarding which one I should buy, please let me know. BTW, CJ Pony Parts has these items 30% off through the 8th! Thanks - Eric

Call Melissa @ bronco hut. She is very nice and easy to deal with, she will also make custom covers.

Same here. I don't mean to harp on shipping costs but I have checked the vendors for seat foam and they want from $65 to $112 just for shipping two front seat foams. That is excessive...

Yes that's excessive. I always wonder how much they're charging for the "handling".

The two common seat foam manufacturers are Distinctive Industries & TMI. The Distinctive Industries set comes with a upper back piece that needs to be cut to form. You can likely find the foams through Amazon or Ebay and save on shipping costs.

Handling
The physical act of selling it to you.
They charge you for it then tack on an extra charge for selling it to you.
But by having the price for it look like it's less they try to trick you into thinking you are getting a deal.

Cool, I miss they were available, I remember in the Mustang world we always had to save the originals or build one from scratch. Nice to know they're out there now.

Just remember to grab some of the thin plastic dry cleaner bags from the old lady's closet. Put the plastic bag over the foam before you pull the outer seat skins in place it really helps the seat skins slide in place. Saves allot of energy for squeezing everything down and getting the hog rings in.

TMI makes them. When I ordered my foam from Laurel Mountain Mustang, the crash pads were already installed on the backs. That was about 2 years ago. CJ's has the pads.

Doh...wish I had known. I would've used TMI instead of the Distinctive Industries. I guess it doesn't really matter in the end...anything is better than what was there.

The TMI crash pad (from the pics) resemble the stock crash pads. The DI crash pads were a little more square.

Here are the tmi part numbers that i have Seat Covers 43-70908 (TMI)
Seat Foam 43-70888. These are the sport II's I believe. Call TMI if you need assistance they are very helpful. Someone remind me of what the crash pads are, mentioned by hylander?
