I am putting my 302 and C4 together. Were is a good list of torque specs? Right now I could use the torque spec. for attaching the flexplate to the crankshaft. Thanks
Newer Haynes/Chiltons manuals are absolute crap, but make for good kindling.... and they do have torque specs.
Vintage Chiltons are good. Motor Manuals are excellent. It’s rumored the internet’s have such data
lots of sources for that information all over the internet. most small blocks have the some torque specs. Flywheel and flex plate are the same at 85 ft-lbs
I have a Haynes(1983 edition) Ford Pick-ups & Broncos, 1973-79. I tried getting the flexplate torque, it sent me all over, ending in 2B,14 Flywheel Installation (6 cylinder area), tighten "to the prescibed torque". Thanks for your help- 75-85lbs.
Besides cylinder heads and connecting rods I personally feel using a torque wrench is not necessary. I also dont find following an exact pattern on cylinder heads necessary , start in the middle and work your way out using common sense. Haven't had any issues or failures due to something torque related yet.
