Best Tool for a Wire Wheel

I need to prep the inside of the Bronco for paint and have read many posts that the wire wheel is probably the preferred tool for channels and such within the truck. What I do not see is what is the recommended driver of said wire wheel.

Should I get a powerful and high speed corded drill or one of those 4 1/2 in grinders? I did buy a air tool to do it, but my pancake compressor will not keep up so I think I need to go with something else.

Thanks,
Jim

x10,000 on this and leave the long pants on! I use a cup type in my 4 inch angle grinder. I have also used the wheel type in my screwdriver/drill. Both have their benefits.

Cup on a grinder. I paid a good chunk of coin years ago for a dewalt brush cup and i still use it all the time. Almost doesn't wear down.

Definitely a 4.5" grinder. Such a must have tool. I use mine for: cutting, grinding, wire-wheel, and flapper sander disc - in that order ;)

And go with the full face shield and long thick welding or grinding gloves...

Totally agree. I use the devil out of my cordless drill for places the grinder can't reach as easy. Never can have too many tools.

Thanks guys. I think I am going to run over to Harbor Frieght and pick up a grinder and then over to the local tool depot and get two of the Dreamt cups. This is such a great group to run things past.
