I wanted a Snap on Classic 78. But I only wanted to pay $1000. It took seven years to find one at that price. I got it month ago 10 miles from home off Craigslist. It even has the stainless top!! I love it!!! Much easier to find if you're willing to spend $1,500-$2,000.

One of the best deals you'll find is from a divorced women who's selling her X's stuff and has no idea just how expensive that Snap-On box is.

I'm lucky enough to have two Harbor Freight stores within 20 minutes of home. I have looked closely at their 43" box. I found it superior to their more expensive and longer 56" box. The 43" seems to have a stiffer structure and a sturdier drawers. Technically speaking I may be wrong but the 43" just feels better than the 56".
Having said that I've had my bottom (black) Craftsman 7 drawer for uhmmm....erhhhh....23 years. It is still fine but a little too full. The top (black) Craftsman 9 (?) drawer box is about 14 years old, also fine. I am in them alot for just a "regular guy wrench turner" and they are still perfect just a little dirty and scratched up.
If I get another box it will be a 43". I will "try" to get a used Mac, Matco, Snap-On, Cornwell, etc.. box.
If I can't pull that off I will probably get that 43" at HF. Similar Craftsman box is nearly twice the price.....
Damn....it makes me feel bad (unAmerican) even considering the HF over the Craftsman.

So far I am happy with my cobalt box from lowes. I used a 10% off coupon and got 1 year no interest..... The Home Depot one seems real cheep.

I think Sams club sell these or just like them. We have on in the race trailer and it works pretty good.

new made craftsman and the harbor freight are made at the same
factory in china with the same specs. times have changed for the
craftsman name over the last 5 yrs.
I have a 18yr. old craftsman that is very nice. Look for the older ones
with roller bearing drawers, you'll know after you handle them.
