I am going this weekend to look through a salvage yard for some seats (front)to put in the Bronco. What vehicles should I look at? Any input and pictures from you guys would be appreciated. Ease of install is important but, I'm not as young as I used to be, comfort is VERY important.

Buckets - Late model extended cab Ford Ranger or T-Bird (same seats). The seats have longer slides, passenger side tips up for rear access (I believe). Get them with a console if possible, it'll all fit as one unit. Pros - Seat covers are readily available. You can get neoprene covers, fabric, you name it and they can all be found on the shelf at your local Wal-Mart. Some even say "FORD"! Very comfy to, some with an extended support for your legs and adjustable lumbar. Power seats are out there, check the T-Bird's first.

Bench Seat - I have a 60/40 out of a late model Cheby S-10. They fit great, are quite comfy and recline way back. Look for a set out of an extended cab for same reason as above. Negative - Don't know about power seats or adj. lumbar being available. VERY hard to find quality seat covers for them and of course, it's a Cheby part on a Ford :-[

I used early 90's Honda or Acura seats. These had great support, reclined, had mechanical lumbar adjustments, and the seats were physicaly low enough with the rail system to install and still see out of the windshield. The highback seats have removable and adjustable headrests. I found lots of EB seat replacements with thick or high bottom seats caused the owners grief for this (one) reason. I also would suggest that you mount the seats as close to the floor bed as posible to help with the heigth problem.
If your verticaly (unchallenged) like I am, any advantage will help.

P.S. Lots of these cars in the wrecking yards. I scored an almost perfect set with the sliders and all hardware ( make sure you take the seat belts also ) for only $ 60.00. The seats have a intagrated seat belt release on the seat ( no more looking for the belts on the floor) so get the other belt clip to marry into your existing belt system.

I run 2000 Honda Civic seats in mine.

My drivers seat is full adjustable with the same mechanical lumbar supports and lower seat cushion adjustment. Install requires that you drill holes in the tub, but so does most other stuff.

I will be eventually going to PRP seats in the front to match my rear full suspension seat. Not that I don't like the Civic seats, but I need something that is a little bit better offroad.

i have some 2000 mustang mach 1 seats i got in really good condition from the local yard for $150. the drivers side bolts right in. the pass. side will need to have the stock seat bracket from the right front cut down a little and welded on to the new seat bracket and you will be ready to go.

I am using the seats out of a Honda Del Sol. These are difficult to come by, as the cars are not plentiful. Pros-seat has a metal pan for the base, not springs like most others. Very firm and supportive, grerat side bohlsters. Sit vey low to floor as well. I found one in the junk yard for $10, then found a matching set for $200, shipped to my door.

Ok guys-- got your attention !!!

I have a contributors status for pics - but something in my software won't allow me the chance to do this yet-- I will pursue this and see if I can get a resolve. Meanwhile, if there is other info I can throw out your way just let me know.

The installation for these seats were some of the easiest things to do on my EB. The seats and sliders came right out of the donor car with 4- bolts each. The rails were almost perfect to adapt to the original threaded holes for original seat bolts with a local L-bracket from Home Dept. The brackets are "unistrut L-brackets" ( electrical section )and are thick enough to be safe for seat support. These brackets keep the seats low enough and the pre drilled hole in the unistrut brackets allowed me to fit right to the original seat floor holes. Since my business is Construction, I had these in the back of one of my trucks so You can guess why I tried these first. ( Freebe ) The seats have a small amount of wing suppport (like mastercraft seats) on both the bottom and backs of the seats. This was great becuse it supported me while not being to radical for getting in and out of the Bronco.

The seat belt receiver is bolted and built right into the Honda seats. This is cool because it is always right there. can fold down out of the way and is tucked into the seat design. The "metal belt clip end" on the shoulder belt side has to be used because it is smaller than a regular EB belt clip. I found this out the hard way and went back to rob the ones out of the Honda. I had those metal buckle pieces sewed back onto my existing new shoulder belts to make this all work. My local apholstry shop did the removal and install for these for free. Be aware that some shops may refuse due to the liability of removing seat belt stitching and re-sewing the right clip to the belt material.

By the way --- I also have one of the "Wild Child" passanger interior tool box trays which is one of the best things for storage but also allowed me a platform to mount the front of the new passanger seat. Saved me the money and time to fabricate a funky bracket for the floor dip on that side.

A buddy of mine had two high back front seats from a late 60's early 70's Beracuda in his shop. They are bark blue to match my truck and are upolstrered(sp?) in vinyl.

I took the original mounting brackets off and welded on some mounts and bolted them in. The driver side could be a tad lower, but they were free and look great. They are super comfy too.

I mounted the shoulder belts to the roll bar and mounted the seat belt receiver directly to the seat.

Good Luck

I used Miata seats, got em on Miata.net, from a local guy for $40 for black cloth, they are very comfy, dont recline all the way, but they look good,

I tried a set of 96 Explorere seats, but found the thigh support to be about 6 inches too long for me.
