best way to clean/detail the engine bay

Hello guys
whats the best way, products to clean/detail the engine bay?
should i worry about the connections and distributor etc?
any help would be great

IMHO, steam cleaning works best for cleaning, followed by power washing with HOT water.

It's best done with the engine removed, but can be done with the engine in the car. I would protect the distributor and associated spark box, etc.

Carb cleaner -mechanic-n-a-can is about the best degreaser/cleaner for ease of use....spray and go.

I spray it down with super clean let it sit few minutes then power wash it off. wal mart and auto parts has it purple bottle

I've always used the gunk engine cleaner, the gel, but all mine leak some kind of fluid.
