Bestop Supertop Rear Window Roll-Up?

Hey,

I have searched on this forum and the Internet in general; but, I haven't found an answer to a question regarding the rear window on the Bronco top.

Does anyone use straps to keep the rear window rolled up so that you don't have to remove it completely? The JK had a system for this; but, I can't find anything in the instructions for a Bronco install.

I'm sure I could cobble something together... just checking to see if it's something obvious.

Thanks

Jeff

I don't think it is set up to do that... I have only removed the rear window.

I just remove the window. Roll it up around the tailgate piece and stick it in the tub.

I would think you could have a local shop stitch some Velcro straps or snap-straps there to hold it in place like the old versions of the tops did.
Unless there is something too rigid in the side area where the zipper is that would keep it from rolling well, it could be done.

I always recommend carrying a nice big beach towel (color coordinated, of course) to roll up inside any clear windows. Won't stop scratches, but it usually reduces them quite a bit.
The best practice is to just not roll them up when they're dirty. But we can't always control that aspect, so the towel is a help.

That's the way the Rampage top is setup, with button straps like Paul described and you simply roll up the rear panel and use the straps to secure it in place.

Another thing besides the towel that helps, is wiping the clear windows down on both sides with Pledge (you know...for wood furniture?) before any roll up. Cheaper and better than all those expensive vinyl window top cleaners, and the Pledge picks up the dust which is the killer and scratch demon on softtop windows.

I never roll mine up for the reasons listed above. On previous tops, I tried the towel trick as well as only rolling it up when it was clean but it still alsways scratched. I take mine out and hang it up in the house when I am not using it.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the feedback. I always find myself getting a little frustrated as I try to get the window zipped in with all three zippers... hence my desire not to remove it. I guess that's the best choice, though.

Take Care

Jeff
