I believe that most years either had the sm bearing or the big bearing. It had to do with if it had the heavy duty package or not. I believe the sports, explerers, and rangers all came with them. The 74 and 75 had a medium duty bearing which was a big bearing axle with small bearing brakes. All 76 and 77 came with Big bearings.
