Body Work - One Piece Floor pan / platform

This may have already been discussed but I have not found an answer yet. I am looking at replacing my floor pans. Drivers side is a mess and passenger has much to be desired. The issues do not stop there. The inner rockers are almost gone and the kick panels had been replaced with some patch panels some 30 years ago. Drivers side A pillar is barely holding the door. With all that said, I have been collecting body panels for some time. I have almost all new body panels for the front clip and floor pans and inner and outer rockers.

Here is my thinking..... Should I replace the entire floor pan with the one piece and begin things here. I am concerned if I just replace the floors then the braces may have more damage than I can see and then not sure if I am going to be able to install a new inner rocker and kick plate as well as a new door pillar.

Long and short: Has anyone ever installed one of these on a non frame off restoration. I am currently driving my Bronco and do not want it to turn into a pile of parts.

Thanks

Never installed the part in question, but I have done a one piece floor in a 1967 Mustang. I found it simpler than piecemealing it. Don't know if that helps your decision or not.

So is it your plan to replace part by part while continuing to drive it?

Yes, you will have a pile of parts removed in order to replace the entire floor pan.
The entire floor pan piece is to help minimize the time/experience required to remove the old and install individual pieces and make them fit well. Obviously that doesn't mean that there isn't work needed to install it properly either.

I kind of did what you did and purchased several of the individual pieces, cut-out most of all the floor pans and supports until i realized the one-piece existed.
I purchased and "pre-installed" the one-piece. It's a nice well made piece and preliminary fit was good. That's as far as iv'e gotten in the past few years but that's another story lol.

Don't know if CJ Pony parts has improved but their customer service was/is non-existent.

I have to do the floors on my truck (full floors) so I’d love to see pics of the body bracing to accomplish this job.

Were you able to do it with the dash and steering column in? I plan on bracing the doors. After floors, then kick panel, A pillars and then work my way forward.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the reply!

No. My entire front clip is off. I started with a whole body off resto so a bit easier in that respect.
Yes. work from rear to front. Get everything fitted up first for fitment and then weld. Obviously i'm not there yet lol.

Nice, going the LUBR route! That is what I have! 71 2 1/2 lift one inch body lift. Won't let me insert a photo?

I am trying to avoid the frame off as I really enjoy driving it. Once the kids are out of HS and maybe college, I can strip it all down and start over. I have watched the wrenches of fury video were he did it and braced the front and rear door posts. but he had the dash and column out as well. it is probably feasible but would be tight. Thanks for the reply and best of luck with the build!
