I'm losing my mind here...can anyone tell me what size the bolts should be for the timing pointer on the explorer front timing cover? I can't find anything that seems to want to fit without some coercing. I only have one from the stock set up and the threads are buggered up so nothing at the hardware store wants to match it either.
Those bolts are the only thing not covered in the tech section amazing write up.

They seem like 1/4-20 but I'd really like to be sure before I end up cutting new threads...

Thanks

Yes the thread size please. Metric threads didn't seem to want to work either. If I can just figure out what it's supposed to be, I'll run a tap through it or feel better about working the bolts a bit more.
Thank you

Thank you Buck, but those start in a couple of threads and bind up just like a couple other sizes. I'm hoping to find out what it really is so that I can just chase them out and not risk breaking the bolt or stripping the cover....especially now that it's all bolted up....
