good luck gents!! be looking for progress pics

Have a bunch to down load off the camera and resize. Posting soon. Lots done. Big thanks to Tim (Turbotim2), Art(slednut10), Hank(hankjr), Brian(migs), Brian(brianstrange), Dave(dave67fdd), and Craig(MR-CYN). Ken(broncokak) and his daughter Pauline stopped by as well.

Brakes are almost complete from top to bottom with all custom bent line. The project planner had the wrong calipers for the front, slightly different and caused clearance issues and the right ones will not be here till Monday. Gonna have to fire that guy!

There is probably about 100 pounds less wire in the truck and it still runs!

Bax's roll bar is out (as well as the seats) and ready for shipping, just need an address Roger.

Passenger floor is cleaned up and ready to be welded up.

Most of the lights are now working but there are a few minor bugs to sort out still.

Still lots of old parts and pieces to clean up but overall a great day. And I don't think anyone went away hungry or thirsty either...;)

THANKS GENTLEMEN, I could not have made this much progress this quickly without you!

And really, the parts guy was only off by one digit; 1971, 1976, what's the difference:eek:

Was a fun day, Pete! Glad I could help!

Was a fun day, Pete! Glad I could help!

That was pretty funny. When I was chasing parts I sourced the front calipers off of Rock Auto (thanks again Nick) Which came in Delco boxes. Through my research of the caliper it became obvious that it was a Chevy conversion on a Dana 30 front axle. I had two options, 71ish or 76ish calipers. I ordered 76 (which fit on on the rear). When I researched the rear disc brakes it became obvious that they were the same calipers so, since time was tight I bought them from advanced Auto locally. The did NOT come in Delco boxes. Today we realized the casting on the 76 caliper did not exactly match the casting on the calipers that came off the front conversion. This difference caused clearance issues not evident on the rear. A quick internet search clearly indicated that we needed the 71 caliper. SO I went back to Advance auto with their calipers in the Delco boxes to which they said "That is not our part". Thankfully I had the receipt and explained the issue. They were cool and I will swap them when I get the right ones on Monday in the correct package.

The boys gave me crap for taking so many photos but I told them that good olé Ben Brown would certainly give me some grief if'n I did not have no pictures to post!

Pete, I had a great day hanging with the crew, and glad to lend a hand. Also, my wife would like to thank you for keeping me away from the house for a day, but kindly asks that you don't serve beans next time.

Guys it was a great day! Lessons learned: copper nickel brake tubing, hydraulic flaring tool, and the right calipers :)

Great food Pete. Thx and good to see you all and meet some new brothers
