Can you use the steel braided kind of line to make your own C4 tranny lines?
I originally planned to just bypass the radiator cooler all together and just use a Derale cooler with the fan, but every thing I read on here says that’s a bad idea and that the lines should still be ran through the radiator and if I wanted a secondary option hook up the return line through the derale cooler then back to the tranny? Does anyone have any thoughts on this. My engine and tranny are freshly rebuilt.. any opinions would be appreciated. http://www.votionspeed.com/servlet/the-569/PTFE-Braided-Stainless-Steel/Detail

I used -6 lines just from the trans to the frame and hardlines from there. The flexible lines provide strain relief and are easier to connect/disconnect. I also think it's a good idea to run both both coolers. Just use a thermostat for the fan mounted one so it doesn't overcool.

Do you have any pics of your hard line setup?

These are the only ones I can find. You'll need a pair of -6 to 5/16" inverter flare adapters to attach to the stock trans adapters.

I see you have both sets hard line along the frame and the flexible laying up on the fender. How did you hook yours up? The high pressure from tranny to radiator then out line of radiator to the derale cooler then back to the low pressure of the tranny to complete the circle?

Actually those are fuel lines up on the fender. The trans lines are connected further back on the frame. Pressure to external cooler to radiator cooler to filter and back to trans.

I used -6 russell braided hose with a rubber core. I am not going to use the trans cooler in the radiator for heat transfer, but I don't live in a cold climate area.

Did you make your own tranny hardlines or is that regular stock line from JBG or Tom's?
