brake pedal feel

Its been a long time since I've been behind the wheel of a bronco, my pedal feels soft to me we've bleed the brakes out a few times including pulling the pin on the prop valve but I still think the brakes feel soft. the master cyl also has fluid leaking around the top seal this is the 3rd master in this truck that has had this issue I just got this one from bronco graveyard.
We have replaced the master cyl (no ft brakes) both rear wheel cyls leaking from sitting). is it normal for a power brake bronco to have a soft pedal? the pedal is only about an inch or two off the floor and in anything but normal stopping one of the wheels locks up. sorry for the long post I'm wondering if there is someone in the eastern mass area with a bronco I could ck there brakes on or they could ck my trucks brakes and let me know

thanks John

No, not normal to have a soft feel on any brakes. Either you have a leak or wrong MC bore size (not likely if bought from JBG).

Give us some more specifics on your Bronco and set up? Year, type of power booster, Drums, Disc, H block / proportioning block, etc. Sounds like you may have Disc with a prop block and drums rear?

I have noticed that some of the aftermarket vacuum boosters have an adjustable push rod, and you can use that to adust your pedal position. IE lengthen it will raise the effective pedal actuation height a bit. But that's not the same as a 'soft' pedal.

The wheel lock up is not right, and that's why we need more details on your setup.

I love all the parts i have gotten from bronco graveyard.....except my master cylinder. Mine leaked out the backside from the push rod the day i put it in and ruined my brand new firewall insulator! My new autozone one is nice, its bigger, the lid seals ausome, it came with the bench bleeding kit, and was cheeper than jeffs!
