We had a 74 Bronco that burned in 75,I have always called it yellow, but it was paint code 4 called bright lime in 73 and something else in 74, Anyways I am restoring a truck for my dad for his Birthday and need help with interior. It's a Ranger..what color was the stock interior on a ranger that was this color..I was 5 and don't remember. Please post pics of Broncos this color and include interior shots. White or parchment is the easiest to find, but don't think that is right for a Ranger. I call Melissa at Bronco hut every month or 2 and I get the two weeks or its ready to ship answer, so finding the right houndstooth may be dificult. Thanks in advance

I have a 74 Ranger that has white seats but I think they are covered. The small side plastic on the seat is a light Green faded color as are teh rear arm rests so it makes me wonder. The door panels are a hounds tooth green and black as are the rear panels. Here are a few door panel shots I have on the computer. You can also see the color of the door which is the original color of the 74.

74 paint code 4 was still Bright Lime (Spec # 5027-A) according to the factory manual. My paint code is 8, Dark Yellow (# 5046-A) and my build sheet says Tampico Yellow.

I have a 72 ranger/explorer that is bright lime, the dash and doors are the body color. The seats were some hounds tooth green.

Rob,

Yep the green color I think you are looking for is the one pictured above on Fatboys door panel. I know of three different green houndstooth shades that were actually used on the Early Broncos vinyle seat parts(Jade, Avocado, and Olive/Lime. The more Avocado vinyle with the olive houndstooth is the same one I have seen on the Bright Lime Rangers. This one below is a '73 or '74 Ranger.

I've talked to Melissa at Bronco Hut a few times and she did tell me that most of these pieces are made to order, hence the wait time. She sent me samples of the brown houndstooth and it's pretty nice. Not a dead-on match, but you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference just from looking......If & when I get around to my interior I'll be giving her a call back because I have yet to find anyone that offers replacement pieces for the Ranger interior (except for custom shops and they are WAY too expensive for me!).

Here are the other two greens that I have seen in Rangers,..the first one is in my '77 Jade Green Ranger and the second more Olive color is in a '76 Ranger. I think the one above "Avocado was in many '73 and '74 Rangers and thats probably the one you are looking for. Like I said..I think the houndstooth part was a little more olive and the vinyle was Avocado. Remember though...these are the ones I have seen. There are a few exceptions out there I am sure.

Hope that helps.
