Hoping someone can help me out here:

I piggybacked on another thread about this last year, but I've been waiting for a body tub from Bronco Design in La Vergne, TN for almost 4 years now after originally quoting me 18 months. I get stuff comes up here and there, but the last contact I had was months ago and he told me he was about to put my tub together, which is probably the 3rd time he's told me this. I've tried calling his shop, his cell, I emailed him and I even sent a certified letter asking him to call me ASAP, but I haven't heard anything back.

Does anybody know anything besides that he's just bad at communication? I've been really patient, but I'm getting extremely frustrated with each passing day. Next step is to take a trip out there myself, but I don't quite want to do that yet...

Thanks!

I wouldn't think I've been scammed, he was highly recommended from others I met at car shows. I put $500 down back in 2022

After waiting 4 years and you still don't have a body, plus he doesn't respond.

In the same boat. 3 years wait now and not responding to emails. I was told I was 15 in line when I ordered. Last response was June 2025 and I was 5 in line.

Follow up. Just received an email from Bronco Designs. I never thought I was scammed because they are still active at Bronco events. I was offered a refund of my deposit due to the long wait times. I will continue to wait though. I've been waiting this long and now I'm number 3 in line. I will continue to follow up with this thread.

That's an unrealistic time to wait for a body

Waiting all that time plus poor to no response to emails etc. Absolutely mental to still want to give them a huge chunk of change.

Something something....more money than sense....something something.....

So they did get back to me after I wrote the letter, they apologized and offered a deposit refund or I could have the tub they were currently building on the floor could be mine if I wanted to wait. I gave them another month and then asked for my deposit back, which I ended up getting relatively quick. Turned around and put in an order for a steel body from Rust Belt Offroad. Going to pick it up in two weeks.

I can understand small businesses can have a hard time and quality is important and I don't think anyone is questioning the work they do, but I also want to finish my build sooner rather than later. I know they weren't scamming me either because I got a tailgate and hood from them in the time that I was waiting for the body, its just unfortunate how the cookie crumbles sometimes. If you don't mind waiting for years for the body, then go for it because everyone I've talked to loves their work, but if timeline is important to you, take your money somewhere else.
