Bronco Design mid Rise Hood Fresh Air Vent

So I am installing the Bronco Design Mid Rise Hood and I have come to an issue... I cut the front fresh air vents figuring it would be too dark to see inside... Well its not... My aluminum radiator really stands out and I expect it to be even more noticeable when I have the hood painted flat black... Anyone else run into this issue? Thinking about installing some type of mesh or maybe some kind of a louver.

Paint your radiator black.

that's probably what I would do. Or make a small piece to cover the top and be flush with where the shroud attaches and paint that black. If it was flat and flat black you would never notice it.

Check out the offerings of these guys? I have no experience with them yet, but I will be solving the same problem in a few months when I get to my hood. They have a few different patterns, and painted black they may do the trick.

I'm not totally sold on it myself, but I'm leaning this way. Let us know your solution when you find it.

Did the cut make the fiberglass around the opening flexible?

I may cut mine but leave some material in the middle instead of a long cut. So 4 holes instead of 2 holes.

No noticeable change in rigidity cutting out the vents. I have the non-reinforced hood. It certainly is flexible but nowhere close to the old Kentrol hoods.

Well here are the results... If I were to do it again I would get a tighter hole pattern. Certainly much better... Might be able to live with it.....Not quite "home-run"...

So... Too cheap to buy more material with smaller holes... Got out the high temp grill paint and painted just the top of the radiator. I am satisfied. :)

I have the same hood but it has the full underside so I didn't want to cut out the vents, but I thought it would look weird without it so I had it all smoothed out instead. just another option.
