That was one of the smartest decisions I have ever heard of. Congratulations. It looks fabulous now. I would've driven into a pond, If I had been stuck with the other paint job.

Looks great. Congrats! I bet your buddy is gonna love the special Mary Kay color you surprise him with on the powder coating you do for him.

I am really amazed in the differance. They quality of the finished paint, the lack of over spray, attention to detail. Some one actually gave a crap about what they were doing.
Thanks guys knowing that all of you can see the differance with just pictures make me know that I made the right choice. It puts the build behind about six months due to the extra cost but I got what I wanted and I don't think I'll build myself another rig. I'm 52 now so this probably will be the last big rebuild.
I'll keep you updated as all the bling goes on!!

Nice! So much better w/o the glitter. You made the right choice and now instead of dreading it everyday you're going to love it and be excited about it everyday. Your mental health just improved 100%.

Do you feel you still owe your buddy a powder coat job? I would say if you want to stay buds with him then probably yes, but realistically he owes you the money you just spent correcting his screw up.

All though I'm bummed to spend 2k for a repaint, he did do a great job with body work, and his paint job was good. It was the over spray and lack of caring that made me go elsewhere.
I will hold up my end of the deal just because of all the work he did do. But there might be just a bit of metal flake added in. ;D

Turned out great! I like the new color much better. Glad you are happy with it now, it will be much more fun to work on without that paint gnawing at you.

That's probably the right thing to do. In the end you got it the way you wanted, that's what's important! Looks awesome!!

I think some wrinkle finish powder coat might be in order, no?

The difference is amazing! Like the difference between a super model and a stripper... the model does not need glitter to help her.

Your Bronco looks a million times better.
