Anyone have recommendations on frame tie in family cage ? I am eyeing the bailie but also the black beard fab one - I’m doing a full restore so while the body is off and all disassembled I’d like the get the most sturdy - wife is pressuring as well for safety of kids 🤪
With a Bailie I would just add a cab mount to the chassis that picks up the 2 bolts on the bar that crosses the floor.

However if you’re concerned about it, it is the only design that I feel tying to the frame is not needed and might actually be a hindrance. Who else has a cage that has been designed and stress tested in solidworks? Been rolled over and over hard to find weakness? No one that I know of. If you haven’t, call and talk to Gordon. Honestly for the typical Bronco build with a bailie cage, I would not tie to the frame. Even his own truck is not and it has rolled over more than anyone wants to admit.

For reference roll test Video. This bronco was so rusty you could poke your fingers through what looked solid, just bolted in like normal, no special prep done.
