I didn't get my Bronco trailer...I had to walk away...It wasn't really that nice...Plus, the manufacture sticker was removed as well as the metal plate that gave all info about the trailer...No serial # anywhere...There is about 3 places on the frame it's supposed to be, but I couldn't find it anywhere...No paperwork, other than a purchace aggreement...
The guy said he didn't need any of that stuff in KY, I said I need it in Ohio, so I just walked away...

That sucks man...that would be a good trailer. But like you said, when you get that funny feeling you are best served to just walk away....

Good walk away! I am sure with a trailer that size it must have a tag and that paperwork is needed.

Something smells and it's not the river water.

You were wise to walk away, there will be another trailer with your name on it just be patient.

You sure you wanna pull something that big from a bumper pull setup?

I guess I'm weird, but anything over 16' should be a gooseneck IMO. I wouldn't want that big bugger pushing me around.

Darn nice trailer otherwise, I can only dream of something that nice. I'm thinking of a 30' lowboy car hauler in the next year or so, it'll have to serve double duty of moving farm implements and parts around also.

ky rules

In KY you do not have to liscense (SP) most trailers. It is fishy for a trailer that large. But then again my brother does not have to tag his tandem axle trailer he pulls his race car with, no title x-fer or anything.

Yeah, the guy said he didn't need any of that stuff down there, but here in Ohio I do...As for pulling a tag that size...No problem...I have a 2000 F-350 dually that handles a 24' foot enclosed, like it isn't even back there...It actually smooths out the truck...I'm not upset at all, I can get a 28' extra hight enclosed brand new for $6832 out the door...Thats tax, and everything, and WITh a serial # ;D ;D ;D

You made the right choice, but have you considered running a gooseneck? Gummibear is right, that gooseneck makes a world of difference when you're towing. You can probably get a 25' gooseneck and it'd manuver the same as a 16' flat-bed bumper-pull.

So now what? You sold your halfcab didn't you?? I sure hope it works out, there aren't enough guys who stand by their word these days.

I watched the sale of that nice blue half cab. I am sorry you gave that up, and still did'nt get what you wanted. At least you still have the cash and not a stolen trailer that the cops will take from you one day. Leaving you with nothing to show for your troubles.
In Fla. all trailers over 2000lbs have a title. You did good not to buy. Also Goose neck trailers are nice. If your set up to pull them they work very well.

Good luck

I would like to get a goose, but don't know if I can afford one of those...After pulling a 24' enclosed to Woodward with sway bars, and load dist. bars, I really couldn't tell it was back there...I got a little bit of wobble when passing semi's, but nothing drastick...I pulled 70 mph the whole way...It actaully smoothed out the ride of the truck...Thats when I started thinking about a tag...
I'm not REAL upset about selling the halfcab...I know I didn't get what I wanted in return, but I will by spring...Now I have a big chunk of cash to get what I need...I can get a brand new US Cargo Phantom trailer, just like the one the guy was selling for 7100.00 + tax...
Who knows, I have enough cash to put down on a goose, and finance the rest, but I really don't like payments...Either way, I'm not disapointed at selling the Bronco, nor not getting that trailer

This is what I responded with:

Sorry about the wait, the gas, and the listing, but if you would have told me there were no serial number's it could have all been avoided.I knew it didn't have a title, but I did not know it didn't have serial #'s. #1 The serial numbers are located on the toung where that plate was missing, along with the GVW, #2 a sticker on the side, #3 and three places on the frame.I called the manufacture when I got back to find out.Someone removed them for a reason.I'm not saying you did, but I DON'T BUY ANYTHING WITHOUT SERAIL NUMBERS.And I'm sure if you put in your add no serial numbers, NO BODY WOULD BUY.I know what the trailer wieghts, and it's not 1750lbs, It's more like 4600lbs.That's what that trailer weighs new,I looked it up.It's not a featherlite.Cargo mate never made a Phantom, US Cargo did, and they never made a phantom featherlite. You can say what you want about me to ebay, but I can allways respond that it didn't have serial numbers, and it was too fishy of a deal for me to buy.

Smells stolen to me.

In GA which has very lax title laws ,no title required on cars older than 18 yrs, any trailer over 2500 lbs has to have a title, and the title is very easy to get, even for homeade trailers, the DMV gives you an ID tag to rivet under the tounge.

Never buy big items on e bay. Thats what I have learned. I once drove from Fla to Texas to buy an e bay "deal" It was an R code mach 1 numbers matching, big block mustang. Realy it turned out to be a piece of crap rust bubble run of the mill clone. I was pissed, and he had the stones to post bad stuff about me. Let it go, and tell him to do the same. The E bay police will not come find you. I do like the idea of getting the real cops to check him out. People lie, those people suck.

Hey Jim -- like I told you on the phone today, I'm sorry it didn't work for ya, but you definitely did the right thing walkin' that trailer. It just smells bad. I can't believe the guy is tryin' to get you to pay his stupid tax on ebay! I'd just tell him to bite me, and save his threats for someone who gives a crap.

Since you didn't do that one, I'm 100% in agreement with Gummi on the gooseneck -- I've also got a 350 dually, and pull a 34 ft goosneck all the time. I just hauled it loaded with 2 vehicles (an eb and a jag) back from Kansas, and never flinched at 75 mph. It was steady as a rock. You've got the truck to pull it, so I would bite the bullet and do a gooseneck without question. That's a trailer you'll keep for a long, long time -- you'll NEVER regret moving up from a bumper pull with a trailer that large. My opinion -- Take care -- talk to ya soon. Scott

Yeah, the goosenecks are more expensive, and you'll have to get a gooseneck ball (I'd recommend B&W), but I think they are better on your truck as well. The weight is where it should be (over the axles). On that B&W turnover hitch, you can also add a 5th wheel hitch that is totally removable too and leave your bed flat again. Check you're local thrifty nickel or farm/ranch paper. You might find a good deal on a used one.

Due to the amount of grammar and spelling errors in his email to you I doubt ebay could even understand his complaint if he did make one. I am far from perfect in grammar and spelling, but damn....... %)

I know...I thought it was funny when he said "Halft to file non payment"...It reminds me of "O Brother Where Art Thou" when they said Mrs. Hogwallap done R-U-N-N-O-F-T...Maybe his grammer was to good to be in the movie ;D ;D

BTW, after recieving the threat, I put a neg. feedback, and reported the whole thing to ebay.
